PI.28.a1 Rathke cleft cyst (MT x100). Cyst filled with mucoid fluid, bordered by a single cell layer of cuboidal and columnar cells that may be ciliated or contain a secretory vacuole. This epithelium separates the cyst from the pituitary tissue. It sometimes rests on connective tissue, in a suprasellar position.
