PI.29.b1 Chromophobe pituitary adenoma (MT x100). Cells with a regular, spherical nucleus and rather abundant, poorly-staining cytoplasm. Numerous small vessels, often with a rudimentary wall, along which a cell layer with an epithelial appearance is sometimes noted. Many chromophobe adenomas are nonsecretory.
