PI.29.d1 Prolactin pituitary adenoma (prolactinoma) (from left to right: PRL, HGH, and ACTH x100). The tumour cells show marked positivity solely for prolactin (this immunohistochemical technique uses alpha-napthol as a substrate; the colorless precipitate is then stained blue). Prolactin adenomas are often more or less acidophilic.
